Diving at Curaçao can be a complete new experience for new divers doing a discover scuba dive or for more experience divers trying shore diving instead of boat diving. We start building together our dive gear at the parking lot and then simply walk into the water from the beach. Since we can descend very shallow already and go deeper very gradually the pressure on the ears builds up more slowly, giving all divers more time to equalize. This is why shore diving is especially good when you are known to have problems with your ears. Besides this the most beautiful creatures are often found shallow!

Come and experience shore diving for yourselves with Relaxed Guided Dives.

During multiple days of two-tank guided dives you can encounter a lot of sealife at our reef. Every dive is done at a different dive site . In between the dives there is time for a lunch consisting of a sandwich, fruit, a glass of juice and water. It’s relaxing on the beach in-between the dives. You can talk about what you have seen and enjoy the scenery above water. Under water you can encounter seahorses, turtles and a lot of other sea creatures. Above water you can encounter a lot of birds and iguanas. All in all a great experience and fun to do.

Finding a seahorse during our Discover Scuba Dives or our guided dives is always something that makes us and our divers very happy. Finding an orange seahorse is extra special, usually we find the more brown/black varieties. We have seen this specific seahorse on several dives already. Sometimes we don’t see it for a couple of weeks and then suddenly it’s back ‘home’. Whenever we dive on this specific dive site, which is also a site we can visit during an Open Water course we always stop by the seahorses habitat, hoping to catch a glimpse of it.

Who knows, you might see it yourselves on your next dive with Relaxed Guided Dives!

About a week ago Leroy did a guided dive with 2 persons. In this movie you get an impression of what they encountered during this guided dive. The divers greeted Neptune on their way to the reef and saw turtles, a lobster, a sharptail eel and 2 honeycomb cowfishes engaged in either a mating ritual or a fight, you tell us what you think! Take a look at the juvenile trunkfish Leroy managed to capture, they are so cute, tiny as a pea. Funny how they are black with yellow spots, compared to white with black spots when they are all grown up.

Tomorrow another day filled with guided dives, we are looking forward to it. When will you let us take YOU on a dive with us?

Yesterday we had the honor to do 2 guided dives with a very spontaneous female diver. We had lots of fun on the surface as well as underwater. Leroy took Yanshu to Playa Lagun and Playa Piskado for 2 beautiful dives. When looking at a sharptail eel something yellow caught his eye… a yellow frogfish! Of course the turtles and lobster where also something they really enjoyed.

Did you know already we have package prices when you do several days of 2 tank dives? Check our website for prices and conditions or send an e-mail to ask for more information. Petricia always answers every e-mail as soon as possible, even after hours!

Known as one of the best wreck dives in the Caribbean is the wreck called Superior Producer. This former cargo ship is now covered with corals and a home to lots of sea life. Big green moray eels are seen in the cargo hull and often tarpons stand guard around the wreck. But also look a bit more closely and try to find the smaller creatures like the bearded fire worms that crawl over the sides of the ship. Dive this wreck as one of your Advanced Open water optional dives (only if the mandatory deep dive has been done first and went well) or as a guided dive when you are already an Advanced Open water certified diver. For the more experienced divers there’s also the Wreck dive specialty.

We like to give you a short impression of what you might encounter during your dives with us. It might interest you that you don’t have to go deep to see most of these lovely creatures. Our instructors always start the dives very shallow to make sure we don’t miss anything. How often did we see seahorses or turtles at only 2 meters deep during Discover Scuba Dives, Guided Dives or Open Water course dives? In this movie you see a yellow frogfish, so ugly it’s beautiful again, a big green moray eel, turtles and more.

What we encounter is always a surprise, we can not guarantee turtles or any kind of other sea creatures. What we can promise is a beautiful, relaxed dive in small groups and a lot of fun!

A great way to find out if you want to learn how to dive is by doing a Discover Scuba Dive. The great thing about doing a DSD on Curacao is that dive organisations like PADI and IDD allow us to do this directly in the ocean instead of a swimming pool. Curacao has very safe bays that resemble swimming pool conditions. It is so much nicer to be looking at fish instead of tiles on your first diving experience.

The diver in the movie joined us for a Discover Scuba Dive and loved it! He immediately decided to go on and do the Open water course. Did you know you get a discount on the course after doing a DSD with us?

Come and experience diving yourselves, let one of our very enthousiastic and patient instructors introduce you to a new world!

Even when you are a certified open water diver or advanced open water diver you might choose to dive with a divemaster or instructor to guide you. This way you don’t have to worry about navigation, which gives you more time to relax and enjoy the scenery. Besides this the guide that takes you on your guided dive knows the most beautiful dive sites and often also knows where the creatures live. Seahorses and frog  fishes for instance really have a habitat where they stay for a long time as long as they are not bothered to much. The same goes for turtles. Isn’t it time for you to come dive with us at Relaxed Guided Dives?

During your Advanced Open water course the deep dive and navigation dive are mandatory. You will experience colors disappear the deeper you go during the deep dive and learn how to work with your compass and use natural navigation during the navigation dive. Using natural navigation is not so hard, basically it’s what you do at the surface as well. “At the yellow house, turn right, then left at the first traffic lights. Instead of the yellow house it might be a purple stove pipe sponge, the traffic lights a huge barrel sponge etc.

Of course it’s not only educational during those dives, there’s always time to enjoy the scenery, as you can see in this movie…

In the past few weeks our followers probably have seen this yellow Frogfish pass by a couple of times.we regularly go dive on the dive site where we found him and of course we always check if he is still around when we do! A few weeks ago we also saw a second Frogfish keeping him company. This one was of a lightbrown color. On later dives we only saw the yellow one. Until last week! We were on our way back to the beach but decided to make a last stop to wave the frogfish goodbye when we spotted an reddish spot directly behind him. Surprise! Our second frogfish had just changed it’s color to match the coral better! Come join us for a guided dive and together we will explore the beautiful underwater world.

In this video we share one of the cutest sea creatures wth you. These seahorses we encountered during a guided dive on 1 of the most beautiful dive sites of Curacao. The first seahorse we spotted at a depth of 16 meters. The second one we found almost at the end of the dive, at a depth 6 meters. Funny detail is that Petricia spotted the orange one on exactly the same coral about two months ago already. Clearly living in the area! The Longsnouth Seahorse can be found in different colors, like orange, yellow or brown. When will you join us for a guided dive or DSD and help us spot more?
